Protecting the environment is central to our mission at UNIPAKHELLAS. We focus on real actions that reduce our footprint and safeguard natural resources, from recycling and resource efficiency to responsible sourcing. By embedding sustainability into our operations and continuously improving through international standards, we ensure that every stage of our production contributes to a greener, circular future.

circular economy: closing the loop

We actively embrace the circular economy model by transforming wastepaper into new resources. Our in-house paper mill recycles over 90,000 metric tons of recovered paper into high-performance containerboard, which is then used in the production of corrugated packaging. This process ensures that valuable fibres remain in the production cycle, reducing waste, conserving natural resources, and lowering overall emissions.

Certified sustainable practices

Our commitment to sustainability is backed by internationally recognised certifications that reflect our responsible and transparent approach. Both UNIPAKHELLAS North and Central hold the FSC® Chain of Custody Certification (FSC-CoC) and the ISO 14001 for environmental management. In addition, UNIPAKHELLAS Central is certified with ISO 50001 for energy management, demonstrating our focus on minimising environmental impact, improving efficiency, and reducing emissions.
